***UPDATED MEMORANDUM FOR COVID-19**
Dear Valued Families and Residents,
In response to the recent national concern and global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Veranda Senior Living has now reached a point of implementing further enhanced measures as recommended by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Veranda has implemented the CMS Guidance for Infection Control and Prevention of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Please refer to the links listed below for the specific guidance and for additional information and resources.
Veranda is restricting visitation of all visitors and non-essential healthcare personnel from the community.
Veranda is limiting entrance to the community to a single access point. Permissible entrance is segregated to the vestibule portico-share entry.
Staff and authorized health related agencies will be admitted to the community upon successful completion of the following:
Questionnaire regarding travel and virus exposure
Presents no signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, or sore throat.
Veranda will require all authorized visitors to log in and out of the community
Veranda is requiring appropriate hand washing upon arrival and departure of the community.
Veranda is requesting that all resident medical appointments outside the community, that can be changed, be rescheduled.
Residents that leave and return to the community will be restricted to a 14-day self-isolation in their apartment.
Veranda has suspended all life enrichment outings, entertainment, group activities, and communal dining.
In addition to our standard cleaning procedures, we have increased our daily disinfectant protocols to included frequently touched surfaces.
We are monitoring staff and resident illness and will take appropriate action if patterns are identified.
Information and training surrounding COVID-19 and other infectious diseases have been provided to staff and residents.
The community leadership has been and will continue to make preparations if the disease would become widespread.
Veranda continues to monitor and stay current on the information surrounding the virus.
Veranda is encouraging families and friends to use alternate methods of visitation such as FaceTime, Skype or other video communication. Veranda will supply tablets and make available additional phones to facilitate this initiative. Veranda is assigning specific staff members to each resident to coordinate virtual visitation and communication.
Please reach out to the community if you have questions regarding the virus or Verandas related protocols.
